Help & feedback
Report a problem from inside Skein, find the docs and changelog, and copy diagnostics for a support thread.
The Help & feedback button (the question-mark icon) sits at the right end of the title bar, next to the settings button. Click it to open a small menu.
Report a problem
Click Report a problem, describe what happened under What went wrong?, and click Send. Two optional extras:
- Email (optional) — add an address if you'd like a reply. Leave it empty and the report is anonymous apart from your install ID.
- Include recent app logs — on by default. Attaches the last 200 lines of the app log, with file paths, URLs, and repo and branch names removed first.
Click Show what's sent to see the app version, OS, and the exact log text before you send anything.
Needs usage analytics
Reports travel with Skein's usage analytics, so sending needs Share usage analytics turned on in Settings → Privacy. With it off, the form offers Open privacy settings or Report on GitHub instead, which opens a prefilled GitHub issue in your browser.
Find the docs, changelog, and privacy details
Documentation, Changelog, and Telemetry & privacy open the matching page of skein.buildqube.com in your browser. See Privacy for what each consent covers.
Copy diagnostics
Copy diagnostics puts a short summary on your clipboard, ready to paste into a support thread: the Skein version, OS and architecture, your install ID, whether your terminals survive quitting the app (Terminal survival), and your current consent choices.
